NIGHT TO SHINE?

Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs ages 14 and older. The Bloomington event will be held at Sherwood Oaks Christian Church on Friday, February 7th, 2020 from 6-9pm. In 2018, 537 churches from around the world hosted Night to Shine for 90,000 honored guests with the support of 175,000 volunteers! 

Every guest of Night to Shine enters this complimentary event on a red carpet, complete with a warm welcome from a friendly crowd and paparazzi. Guests receive the royal treatment, including hair and makeup stations, shoe shining areas, limousine rides, corsages and boutonnieres, a catered dinner, karaoke, prom favors, a dance floor... all leading up to the moment when each guest is crowned king or queen of the prom.

At least 200 volunteers will be needed for this incredible event. Do you like to dance? Can you serve food? Can you check people in? Can you shine shoes? Can you direct cars for parking? Can you love on others? Will you join us? Sign up today to be one of our amazing Night to Shine volunteers. There's no requirement on where you live, work, attend church, etc. As long as you can be at the event and at a one-hour training session prior to the event, you are welcome and needed! A background check is required of all volunteers age 18 and up working at the prom event. Volunteers of all ages are welcome, but youth under age 18 must turn in a parent/guardian signed permission slip. Children under age 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

All volunteers who will be working at the prom are required by the Tim Tebow Foundation to attend a volunteer training session. The same training session will be offered three different times; please choose one to attend and add it to your calendar!

REQUIRED VOLUNTEER TRAININGS
at Sherwood Oaks Christian Church
2700 E. Rogers Road Bloomington, IN
Sunday, February 2nd, 4:00-5:00pm
Tuesday, February 4th, 6:30-7:30pm
Thursday, February 6th, 6:30-7:30pm
Training is required for all volunteers who will be working at the actual event; volunteers for all pre-event setup shifts and post-event cleanup shifts are welcome to attend but not required.

Are you interested in donating supplies? Here are several ideas of items that would help to significantly reduce our costs:

  1. Bottled Water
  2. Packaged Snacks
  3. Gift cards for purchasing supplies/decorations – Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Party City, Wal-Mart, Target, Amazon, or generic cash cards
  4. Small souvenirs/gifts for 150 Honored Guest bags
  5. Small gifts for parent/caregiver relaxation area
  6. Silver decorations of all varieties
  7. Gently used or new elegant dresses, accessories, jewelry and/or men’s sport jackets or suits, ties, dress shirts, and men's or women's dress shoes
  8. Silk flowers, ribbon, boutonniere pins, floral tape, wristlet bands and beads for creating a lasting corsage or boutonniere for each Honored Guest.
